Hello CLUG, Is anyone here using Save My Modem ( savemymodem.sourceforge.net )? It is an interactive POP client for taking a look at what is in your POP mailbox, and filtering messages before download. This is mainly meant to be a spam protection for the bandwidth-challenged among us. It works much faster and handier than using web-mail interfaces or telnetting to the pop port. Accounts and filtering rules can be configured, and once you connect, it will download the mail list and header from all your servers and make filtering suggestions. You can take a look at the mail list and filtering suggestions and easily change the filtering manually, before you disconnect. Upon disconnecting, smm will delete all respectively tagged messages on the server. It was easy to install it on SuSE 7.3, and it is compact.
Anyone else here got experience with smm? Alternative tools? I mean, besides telnet popserver.whateverdomain pop3 ... Kind regards, Helmut Walle. +----------------+ | Helmut Walle | | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | 03 - 388 39 54 | +----------------+
