If you can get it to work I'd highly recommend a Wacom Intuos2 series tablet. You can get them from Magnum Mac. I gave up trying to make mine work in X. It seems to communicate with the device OK but I could never get it to actually move the pointer around. I will try a later version of XFree86 some day, but its no big deal as I don't do any graphics or CAD in Linux anyway. For the record I hate mice with a passion. I only use mine for games.
