Hi-ho all.. I'm back (OK, so you didn't miss me, I don't care :-) ).
And.. I'm looking at a project that requires a synthesised voice to read out a message. I want the message created in wav or similar format so I can use it as a message on a voice mail type setup (vgetty?). Anyway, I've had a play with festival, which works fine direct to /dev/dsp, but as shipped with RH7.3 dosn't appear to have the text2wav command described in some of the documentation. Soo.. Anyone know how I can cobble a text2wav type function, or had luck with compiling the festival source? I downloaded it and the speech tools from the net, but get some nasty errors compiling it.
