You don't have to have the exact monitor. As long as you know the refresh rates and the supported resolutions, you can select the vidoe modes manually
eg you might be offered a list like: 800x600 50hz 800x600 60hz 1024x768 50hz 1024x768 60hz 1024x768 70hz etc.. Just choose the modes you know your monitor can handle. If you've lost the handbook/spec sheet that came with the monitor, type the brand name and model number into google. >One peice of bad news...
