Odd - this seems to work for some shares but not for others. What I'm trying to achieve is the equivalent of mapped drive letters being reconnected when I logon to a Windows machine. For example, my G: drive is always mapped to \\kiwi\development. So when I logon to my Linux box I want to be connected to \\kiwi\development and I'm assuming that this means that I need to have it mounted somewhere such as ~\development. Tom
