Now I got a DVD Rom in my home box and figured the sound could be better. Whats an economical and linux friendly way to get 5.1 sound from my machine? ie what cards are a reasonable price and well supported by alsa?
BTW the DVD was quite easy to get going, just install various libraries and recompile mplayer and xine with dvd enabled. LOTR on the desktop. It could do with a bigger screen... I can see this getting expensive LOL.
