I had mandrake, redhat, debian, suse and freebsd before i installed
gentoo. I found myself never going back to the others as they were all
in some way outdated or lacking. There was always some bit of hardware
or software that didn't work. After a while I woke up to all the space I
could save and deleted all the other partitions to concentrate on gentoo
(and I have to admit, one win2k partition for my son's toys and the
'special features" on some dvd's  (eg Harry Potter).)
