Greetings Members, Just a reminder that the next CLUG meeting is in two weeks from today.
As we have not had a fix-ups clinic for a little while, the committee have decided that members should have the opportunity to bring their machines to a clinic session. I have offered our services to install a Linux distro on two identical machines for the Spreydon Baptist Pre-School on that evening. These are the machines which will be used by the children. Suggestions as to what child oriented packages should go into the software load, and a volunteer to do that would be much appreciated. Somebody from there will be bringing the machines etc. Members who need help to sort out problems, please make you needs known. I think the capacity of the mains supply limits the number of machines to about 8 or 9 concurrent connections. Is that correct? So it's first come first served. Please bring ALL your cables, mains and network, keyboard and mouse. AND a mains distribution board. My son and I would be very grateful indeed to be given a leg-up into the use of Blender, and possibly kpovmodeler & PovRay. The software is installed and as far as I can tell seems to work, but the dear old brain needs a bit of help to twig on. Pretty please. In summary:- CLUG Clinic Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday 30 June 2003. Sydenham Community Hall 25 Hutcheson Street Sydenham. Hutcheson Street is about 40 metres South of Brougham Street off the East side of Columbo Street. Tea or Coffee and Biscuits provided. Gold coin donation at door requested. -- C. S.
