Thank you. There are several people with lower powered machines which won't be 
able to take the compilation load without help.

You would be very much more useful if you could afford the time to study the 
Gentoo documentation on the http://www.gentoo.org/ web site. It's actually 
some of the best I've had the privilege of reading.

Yes, that's correct at the moment, I'm not sure about the venue. There are 
several flights of stairs up to the OSTC room & no lift. Also if we end up 
with many more than about dozen or so punters who want installs done it will 
be somewhat, like very, cramped. The other point about the OSTC is that David 
Kirk, quite reasonably, will want to charge us for the use of the facilities.
