Hmm, I kinda remember reading somewhere that compiling the kernel with distcc isn't 
such a good idea.  However, I have no evidence to back it up & the last time I 
seriously looked at distcc was 6+ months ago.  If it gives you a working kernel, 
ignore me - but if the kernel misbehaves in interesting ways distcc may be to blame.
