'Evening. It's the NIS xfer agent... It's brought up by portmapper/ypxfrd.
No big deal, you can disable it by doing a 'chkconfig ypxfrd off' as root, or find ypxfrd in the mandrake services tool and turn it off. This probably means you're running portmapper which can probably also be turned off if you're not on a network with other linux servers/machines. While you're at it, NFS and NFSlock can go off as well, which from memory are on by default with MDK, and ypserv, ypbind and.... Cheers, Me....
