The Chief Electoral Office of the Department of Justice is issuing Request For
Information for technological solutions for voting. It is proposed that a
that this technology would be used on a small pilot basis during the 2005
general election.

I reckon a requirement would be for any technological voting system needs to
open to scrutiny and voting be auditable.

This would mean that any software would have to have open logic and traceable
iterations.

A 'black box' solution is not able to provide this assurance. I Know an
operating system and associated software that can. Can you guess what it is
called?

Any open operating system evangelists wanting to take this further?
