But I'm not a evangelist filled with zealotry about xfs, because
I have had three file system crashes since installing gentoo.
But the xfs_repair utility did do its thing correctly every time, but I have
lost some crucial files and X won't come up when I am using my home
directory. The moral of the story is that you must have proper backup.
...

I am currently compiling the vanilla 2.4.21 kernel from Linus, in him I trust,
with the patches for the current xfs from sgi. I'll let folks know how I get
on with the new Kernel.

I have lots of volume at 256 Kbits available too.
