Does anyone here know how they achieve that technically? 2 Mbps is quite possible, as long as only one subscriber on a bundle cable wants it, but once the neighbour wants it too, it may get a bit difficult, not even speaking of a higher market penetration. Or does Telecom really measure and qualify the cables for every new customer? Then they would have to dig in new cables every time the specs are not met with the existing cabling. But this would be really costly. I know of other countries where residential customers get a guarantee of something between 500 kbps and 1 Mbps downstream, and much less upstream, and only business customers (paying a higher price) would get the higher rates up to 4 Mbps.
