Well, oowriter was probably a link to ooffice, which is still there along with oocalc, ooimpress etc. Mdk puts them all in /usr/bin/ My desktop has the executables in the same place (same distro). I've only noticed oowriter and xmms missing, everything else is still there AFAIK. The disappearance of xmms and oowriter broke some kde shortcuts that worked before. Last time I used the lappie those were the only two apps I ran. It's weird. When I get home I'm definately going to fsck and re-install the RPMs. I don't know what else is screwed which is why I'm tempted to re-install. The lost+found directory is empty. I did run the battery down a while back. The next time I turned it on it did its own fsck on boot-up but I'm pretty sure I used those apps after that. >driectory tree? exploring the rpm's with mc will tell you what should be >there, also rpm has a facility to check that the files on the system are >what was in the package (there is some sort of checksum for each file in >the rpm database) rtf rpm m for more info. I think I'll have to checksum everything to be sure nothing else is screwed up. Yuri
