Hi there If I remember rightly you are using Mandrake 9.1, right? If you are, in the Mandrake Control Centre there is a DrakFirewall app which you can use to install and configure Shorewall. As for realtime monitoring I'm not quite sure, but Tripwire and Snort are excellent places to start.
