Lotus Notes ... regulalry out sells exchange, has over 55 million users, is used by the CIA and US navy for messaging and collaboration, is a stable product with over 12 years of history behind it, has never had a virus, is easy to administer, is secure, is web enabled, and very very stable.
It runs on Linux, Rs6000, As400, AIX, Unix, Mac and even MS platforms. There is no conversion needed to change Lotus apps from one platform to another. it is enterprise ready, it does shared calendaring, resource sheduling, email, ICQ type stuff, desktop sharing, web serving ... It can be accessed via the web, Lotus Notes client, pop or imap compliant email clients. It has the ability to go off line, be used and safely replicate changes back to the main group or server.
