When I
used RH7.3 I had trouble with cd burning until I realised that I needed to add
to my GRUB file the following:- hdc=ide-scsi I think in
LILO you need a line as follows:- append = "hdc=ide-scsi" After making the appropriate change try
typing “cdrecord –scanbus” If the devices show up you should be set to
go. Robert Never

Message----- Hi all, I am
trying to setup a cd-rw drive so I can write cd's. I believe that this has to
be configured to use the SG driver and also prevent the ide driver from
claiming it. Exactly where & how is this done. I am running RH7.3. The disk
is referenced as hdc and the other cdrom as hdd. and both have
a cdrom alias.e.g. cdrom and cdrom1 at the moment. any help
appreciated. regards Paul |
