You're forgetting 3 things:
1) DJB has bad licensing on his software.
2) DJB is a wanker
3) It's DJB.

I'm sorry, but his software may well be better, and I'm loathe to admit that
of all the rave reports I've heard, I'd probably have to agree[*]. But, I'm
willing to forego the pleasure, simply because DJB is DJB, and his history
in the OSS world has put a rather large black mark on my impression off him.
[*]: Mind, I've never tried any of his software.
(I am aware of the extreme-OT-ish-ness of this post, and I'm aware of how
much personal opinion is contained within the above. I'm also aware that I
feel strongly enough on this issue that I like to make sure others are aware
of what they're accepting when they use DJB software)
