For those of you who are interested, there is a debian and freeBSD mirror at http://debian.paradise.net.nz/
Over the last few months its been getting more outdated, and now its got really confused, and items that should be symlinks have become files. The maintainers of the mirror were Mark Seward, Mark Goldfinch and Jamie Finnigan, but with the merger they have left or moved to other positions, and the mirror is not being actively maintained. Please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] and express your desire to have the mirror maintained. As in the attached mail, the whole server might be closed down for lack of interest. BTW it is free traffic for those on cable modems, and helps preserve those international links for stuff that matters. For that matter - if you want some other distro mirrored then ask for it! Why not another gentoo mirror? -----Forwarded Message----- > From: Paradise Webmaster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: RE: Debian mirror > Date: 08 Sep 2003 19:37:29 +1200 > > Currently this site is under review to see if we will continue to offer this > service. > > Once a decision has been made we will let our customers know. > > Regards, > > Shay Fuimaono > paradise.net [http://www.paradise.net.nz/] > TelstraClear Ltd. > 0800 467272 > > [ When replying to this, please include a copy of the original message. ] > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: CF [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Friday, September 05, 2003 2:11 PM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Debian mirror > > > > > > Gidday - I've been wondering who runs the debian mirror at > > debian.paradise.net.nz? > > > > It doesn't seem to have been maintained lately, and the file structure > > is becoming quite different from the main servers. > > > > EG, http://debian.paradise.net.nz/debian/dists/testing is not supposed > > to be a file, it should be a directory like > > http://www.debian.org/debian/dists/testing > > > > I use this mirror to preserve my international data cap. > > Please forward this to the appropriate people.
