There were super-extended discussions as to the best way to do this on
the IPCop devel lists before 1.3 was released. The current algorithm is very
different from the 1.1 one which is more or less Smoothwall's hatchet job one.

That would be a very good idea, but please sooner than rsn. There has been 
substantial work done on security issues since that version.
My 1.2 IPCop distro stopped working properly, and I'm absolutely certain
it didn't have anything to do with anything I did. Might be a good idea to get a
soemwhat larger hard drive installed at the same time.
