For alt-connect, you want to download the source, and compile it on your machine. This will also compile gui linux clients, and the linux command line client as well as the linux server.
Then you also want wconnect for your windows PCs so they can talk to the server. Thats the way I did it last week when I set it up for some friends.. I think it presumes that pon/poff work to connect/disconnect you from the net. You also get nice dialing status info, etc On Mon, 2003-10-06 at 11:59, Daniel Fone wrote: > > can you route the output of wvdial back to the socket thats open to the > > client, and have it displayed by the client? > This is the tricky bit, I don't think it can be done easily > > > or you can simply ssh in and execute wvdial, and watch it do its thing. > This is what I'm trying to avoid, I don't want to give people accounts on my > server if I can avoid it. > > > or the alt-connect package i pointed you to had (a few years back before > > I had adsl) a nice little windows client that sat in the task bar and > > had little icons as to what was happenning to the link.
