MessageNot being that grub literate ... I would assume that in the LILO or Grub file in the boot partition there is a series of lines describing the possible boot options for any system. These lines should be able to be changed or added to so that you can boot off /dev/hdb7 or /dev/hda7, else /hdb7/.. or any other partition or disk combo you want to as long as there is an image for it to use for the boot process.
