The Raw main tree includes all the packages that MandrakeSoft supports directly with there own Maintainers or other Maintainers who are trusted. Contrib tree Contains all the Software for Mandrake that is not Directly supported by Mandrake or one of their Trusted Maintainers. The PLF tree contains packages that can not be distributed for legal reasons. The Download ed differs from main in that it only includes those packages Mandrake think are need to set up a fairly typical Desktop, Development or Server installation from Main.
