I had to pull some old files off a floppy a few months ago.  Took me a 
while just to find it but it read just fine.  It was Verbatim Datalife, 
about 10 years old.  I was a little worried as another disc I tried 
reading made some "bad noises" and resulted in a number of errors.

I've been thinking about archiving digital photos lately and I'm not 
terribly impressed with the options right now.  My best option might be a 
slide recorder :)

Its a pity MD Data never really took off.  Those discs are a decent size 
and still hold a reasonable amount of data without being too expensive.  
I have no idea about their longevity though.
