I may be the source of confusion. I have never played with CD-RW (just
CD-R) so I posted what I *understood* the situation to be.

file-systems.

and "mkudffs".
Looking at the documentation that ships with my kernel (2.4.20)
Write support requires a block driver which supports writing.
The current scsi and ide cdrom drivers do not support writing.
