I think you will find that the banks are finally getting off their
backsides and getting in on the game. Not really hard to set up I
suppose. In NZ it can just go straight between banks with Pay Anyone (or
your bank's equivalent) - sort of instant digital cheque (and free for
student me, but probably under 50c normally). ANZ now seems to have
something similar to Pay Anyone for international bank accounts, but I
am going to have to investigate a little more. This may have changed but
a couple of years ago when I wanted to paypal something the fee for
paying someone in another country was *&^^& ridiculous - $30USD or
something similar. Maybe I just misread it, but I think the banks
probably have better offerings now anyway.
