Hello CLUG Members,

After introducing a MO drive on my Linux system, I soon found that
either I have to keep file catalogues of all my disks by doing a

find /drivemountpoint > cataloguefile

upon each umount, and then browse the info with grep and less for
finding things, which is a bit unwieldy. Now I remember from my MacOS
times eight years ago, there was a great program called "Disk Wizard"
which would automaticall keep track of all the changes on any of your
removable media. You just had to make sure you never used the same
volume label twice.

Now I have searched around a bit to find something similar to do the
job on Linux, and one of the promising candidates is Alexandria
Archives, http://www.alexandriaarchives.org/

Does anyone here have experience with it? Would be interesting to
hear? Any other suggestions which software to use?

Kind regards,

Helmut.
