Of course one of the reasons we run linux is freedom of choice in how
we setup and use our machines, however I am a keyboard (as opposed to
mouse) junky, and almost always use Alt-f2 to get the run command in
kde. Its so fast, and you can type in web pages, internet searches etc
into it.

do we all know the shortcuts for google etc?

"gg:canterbury linux users group" (quotes not needed) will start
konqueror with a google search for our group. theres a whole list in the
knoqueror setup(settings|configure konqueror|web shortcuts. you can put
these shortcuts into the run command box or the konqueror address bar.
