Hi all,
Firstly I was wondering when the next workshop meeting was as
canterbury.lug.net.nz said it was undecided.
Secondly I was wanting some help at the next workshop as I wish to convert
an old CD-Net I obtained to Run some form of linux which mounts the eight
Cd-Rom drives over NFS. I have reinstalled the motherboard and CPU from
the original 286 it is now a 300mhz box 32mb of ram (It should be
sufficient) and added a small hdd. I have tried installing an old version
of Slackware with no avail. I think that is because I have no idea on
kernal modules but the Original isa scsi controllers(2) have the adaptec
AIC6360Q Chipset. I would also like to add another Scsi controller a
Symbios logic Chipset *I think* which I havent tried to get going yet.
This SCSI controller would be for 3 SCSI hdds. I was wondering if someone
could help me get this going at one of the next workshops(If I can go). Im
going to download Slackware 9.1 on monday. I would like to try slackware
in a fileserver enviroment unless anyone else has any better suggestions.

|Thanks
Ben Devine
