You should use exim4 instead of the old exim 3 packages. Then, you simply edit /etc/exim4/conf.d/main/01_exim4-config_listmacrosdefs and change LOCAL_DELIVERY=mail_spool to LOCAL_DELIVERY=maildir_home.Have been in the process of setting up a Debian box to act as a mail server at home. I've got to the point where everything works except I can't for the life of me work out how to get exim to use Maildirs - can someone help.
Once exim4_4.30-5 makes it from unstable into testing, you can choose to use a single configuration file and change the same value in /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template, which I find much simpler.
