Check if you can get one of the Linux-capable Psion models here. The
Psion PDAs have one of the best PDA keyboards - if not the best. Since
there are so many tty-based applications for Linux it is really
worthwhile having a decent keyboard built into the device. You should
check which Psion models handle Linux all right, look for the PsiLinux
project. I think the thing recently given away for free on this list
might have done the job.

http://linux-7110.sourceforge.net/ (cryptic name from the ARM CPU)

There are binaries including a compact X, window manager, and some
X-based apps as well. Text-based apps should not be much of a problem
anyway.

The principle is simple with the Psion: Since its operating system
(original is Symbian EPOC) and all the apps come on a CF card anyway,
you just have to copy a bootable Linux onto the card, or any other CF
card, of course, if you want to keep the EPOC.

Re availability you might consider mail-ordering from the US - with
the currently high-flying Kiwi and the low USD it could be quite
worthwhile.

Kind regards,

Helmut.
