I found out at:
http://www.aboutdebian.com/modems.htm

Worked a treat.

I am using RedHat at present, tried Fedora, but had times when Squid
would fail and I could not work out why.

We are working on a new web server for school and I have given the
project to my new technician, but thought I had better know the answers
for when she asks the questions. :-)))
