Any recommendations for Linux-based tool for checking the availability/integrity of a web site? I don't want to just check for the existence of a service on port 80, I want to, at a minimum, check for appropriate/correct page content, and preferably be able to script up some navigation, form submittal etc.
I know of mon at http://www.kernel.org/software/mon/. It only has basic website monitoring, but if you can write a simple program in your choice of language, or modify one of the existing ones, it can do the rest of the notification and alerting for you.
