I looked at the free compilers list. I mangled it so I could see which OS supported the most free compilers / interpretors. The answer was Linux by an order of magnitude. Therefore I resolved to learn Linux. I have never regretted that choice or mode of choice. Use the right language for the right job. I do however use Google and will often follow the neat non-irritating Google Word ads that are of interest to me.
