In an emergency such as this one can network 2 'puters using the plip protocol 
which allows you to send IP packets over a LapLink, or FastLinks cable.
~$10 from DataParts. It plugs into the parallel ports. Alternatively every PC 
has a serial port. You can either do the uucp bit, or use minicom to transfer 
files with zmodem or what have you.
