Hi, a traveller needs your help Can some nice soul find one of these old 56k-Modems in the old-hardware-box?
The Backpackers i am staying in here in Chch has got two Win98-Boxes which need to be restarted every day. I installed Debian (Sarge) on one of the computers but having problems getting the internal modem to work. (It produces malformed dialtones and as a result i get "BUSY"-messages.) As i'm leaving on monday it would be easiest, to use a external modem for the serial port just like "in the good old days". Some guests were pretty impressed already, when they saw how KDE and Mozilla looked like. Would be a first-time-linux-experience for many of them. But it would be useless without a working modem. I would come to pick it up. Is 20$ okay? >From the "Old Countryhouse", Simon
