Not necessarily, perhaps one could think of it as looking at the same subject 
from a different point of view? While Gentoo is still basically a source 
distribution, installing it is now, in effect, a litany of incantations 
copied from it's Good Book. The only part which needs a modicum of nous is 
configuring the Kernel, and that can be done automatically by genkernel. 
There is still a typo or three to keep you on your toes, but fundamentally 
that's it. Apart from configuring the kernel Caleb ( 14 1/2 ) installed 
Gentoo perfectly.

Indeed. That's the moment we become social animals & depart for the local ...

Basically I'm trying to come up with ideas which are a just tad more 
intellectually demanding than "You click the orange E with the envelope 
beside it to send an e-mail", yet at the same time don't require a PhD to 
understand the subject matter.
