I've got a DSE XH7916, which was superceeded by the XH1149. They're
absolutely brilliant, and you're right they "just work".

I used to run the XH7916 in half-bridge mode whereby it delivers the
real world IP address to a machine via DHCP, however I'm just using port
forwarding now that I'm running less services from home.

$169 for the XH1149 isn't a bad deal when you consider thats a four port
10/100 switch, plus a usb network card.

My only gripe with the router is its lack of a telnet interface, and
reliance on javascript of the webinterface. However a small price to pay
for a fairly decent performer.
