I see that you're running VMWare on this machine. Can you explain how
you have the VMWare network adapters configured? I suspect the problem
is related to this configuration.

This means that your arp table is overflowing. Usually this is a result
of being attached to a unusually large Ethernet broadcast segment, or a
network configuration problem.
I'll assume that you're not attached to an unusually large (>1024
devices) broadcast segment.
Run '/usr/sbin/arp -n' once you've reproduced the problem again and
paste the output to the list. You'll want to trim it somewhat before
posting.
