Is it just the text based installation (rather than the GUI)?

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably
worth it.

Subject: Mandrake 10 problem

Hello all
I have just finished installing Mandrake 10 for the fourth time in 9
days because of the following problem
After going through the boot-up sequence my system goes to a DOS command
line type screen, instead of the usual desk top, and requests a login
and password. I don't have a login or password.

Because this has happened three times in little over a week I am
getting thoroughly annoyed - even disenchanted - with Mdk 10.
I want to keep it but am very tempted to go back to 9.1 which was
bulletproof.

Can anybody cast any light on why my system is doing what is described
above and how do I cure it ??

Rowan
