I get:-
[EMAIL PROTECTED] kelvin]$ ps aux | grep arts
kelvin 2421 1.2 5.5 12568 6968 ? S 20:04 0:01
/usr/bin/artsd -F 10 -S 4096 -s 1 -m artsmessage -c drkonqi -l 3 -f
kelvin 2608 0.0 0.5 1936 636 pts0 S 20:06 0:00 grep arts

which is missing the part "-d -n -D /dev/dsp -r 44100 -b 16" which is in
yours Chris

Does that mean that arts is not running? (I get very similar output when I
run that command as the user who gets sound OK.)

Regards, Robert
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably
worth it.

NB. This PC runs Linux. If you find a virus apparently from me,
