This is slightly OT but it is to do with linux
I tried installing xandros on sunday it would detect the hardware ok and show the xandros logo on the screen at start up ok.
But after that point the screen goes black and then it appears to try to start a gui(the mouse cursor appears) three mice cursors appear. Followed by what appears to be a windowing environment in the toe inch of the screen that stays for about two seconds
Then a blue screen with black and blue writing(I think) comes up saying some thing about removing the cd and pressing enter to restart(at this point the cd ejects)
Upoon restart no xandros installed just win98 and Debian
I have noticed similar symptoms(these go full screen not just the top inch) when trying to boot knopix off a cd and when switching win 98 into any thing above 800 x 600
I have a Gigabyte Radeon 9200 graphics card with 64 mb ram My monitor is a 15 or 14 inch PC general S-VGA that looks really old
Has any one had this before? What should I google or read?
