Well, if your servers are talking to each other over a private network, and no Internet-connected machine can get an rsh request to you, then there is no need to change.
They where all on a non net connected private net to start with.
On the other hand, if rsh is running on Internet-connected interfaces, you have done the equivalent of leaving your car door unlocked while parking at night.
hence the upgrade of server OS and installing ssh
Sure, you don't have to remember to find your keys when you want to get something from the glovebox, but then again neither does anyone else, if they engage in some fairly simple script-kiddie stuff ...
