Teena koutou, e ngaa Linux users, In the fine tradition of CLUG, here is notice of our forthcoming gathering:
*Sydenham Community Association Hall, 25 Hutcheson Street, Sydenham* *Wednesday 30th June 2004, 7.30pm* Objectives: 1. Annual social event, to meet, greet & answer list-names, with conviviality. Bring a few beers &/or some snacks. Minors must bring an accompanying adult on this occasion. 2. Opportunity for new users to have PC system Linux installations repaired by experienced help. Anyone needing assistance should *register your PC now* by replying to this post. Describe your installbase & hardware/fault. 3. Lend assistance to upcoming Installfest (17-07-04), in any way required - help organise promotional work, distribution of CDs, final prep, etc. etc. 4. Demonstrate running installations of the latest main Installfest distributions (Mandrake, Fedora, SuSE), to ensure all installers are sufficiently prepared. Provide an opportunity for new people to make an informed choice of the distro they wish to use. 5. Anything else Linux users want to discuss as a group. E.g. if anyone is interested in formation & registration of a local GNU/Linux User Group, as specified in http://www.fsf.org/gnu/gnu-user-groups.html , I'd really like to hear from them. Add further points here ... It's your meeting folks - make of it what you will. N.B. We could use a good data projector loan for the night - Hamish, anyone? Cheers & ka kite (see you) - there (kei konei) Rik Tindall -- InfoHelp Services http://infohelp.co.nz/linux.html i686 krnl 2.6.4-52-default Suse-Linux-9.1 KDE/Konqueror-3.2.1 KMail-1.6.2 Mozilla-1.6 OpenOffice-1.1.1
