Please note I am referring to the > video drivers only. <flame> .. and it's MY hardware (in case I ever buy it), and I'll reverse engineer it if I feel like... </flame> When hardware manufacturer protect (hide) their IP (design nightmares) by shipping *compiled* (giggle) code, they lose a customer: me :) PS When working for a VERY big semiconductor manufacturer I advised them to release the source code for their linux driver for a network appliance, they chose the closed source way, it [the driver] passed in house testing... sweet... but nobody is using it in real life, guess why?
