Here's an idea... change the KDM config so that a user automatically logs in on boot (its possible in GDM, not sure about KDM...) and then restart KDM or reboot again - presto you're logged in. Might want to change it back afterwards if you're security concious. My first thought was to get x11vnc to run as root and grab the login screen but that didn't seem to work under the debian/gdm setup I have here. Sascha
