encryption on Knoppix

Do any Knoppixers know if I can mount an encrypted filesystem via 
loopback from a flash-ram device? Or do I have to customise a Knoppix CD?

Failing that, what encryption facilites are there with Knoppix? I.e. how 
do I encrypt/decrypt a file?
