Diary coordination time..

28 & 29 August (weekend) - two activities:

1. Saturday 28th, Software Freedom Day (SFD) is go, in Free/Open format - details here: http://www.infohelp.co.nz/hackstop.html

CLUG can help in a variety of ways, starting with members being available to tutor newcomers, onsite on the day. Advertising can be started now - print off / reformat the page cited above, and pass the notices round / hang them on noticeboards please. Cash contributions for Press and Star advertising are our biggest hurdle - what sort of costs did Installfest have there?

2. LTSP & the Open Source Technology Centre <http://www.ostc.org>, viz the current thread:

We still have an option to promote & demonstrate an LTSP network for schools and organisations, thanks to the OSTC. Advertising to such parties can also be done around SFD, as the OSTC is just a few doors down from the SFD site. But this is our last chance to coordinate with OSTC services, as without some building around them by CLUG now, the OSTC will lose its current address. So the 28th is also the fateful day of action viz CLUG & the OSTC - thereafter the option will be lost.

If nothing else is organised by Sunday 29th, David Kirk is accepting offers of assistance to pack up & move the OSTC chattels. Volunteers and ideas most welcome.

Thanks for your interest,

Rik Tindall
