AbiWord v1.0.2 comes with Debian Stable (woody). I used it a couple of times, and quite liked it. To be honest, I haven't really fixed on a favourite wordprocessor with Linux. I like KWord, I find Open Office takes too long to load, and AbiWord was nice. I reckon if I loaded up a later distro I'd get better apps but for now I don't much care. At least I *have* a choice.
